seagrass grow campaign

The Ocean Foundation’s SeaGrass Grow project offers voluntary opportunities to naturally offset greenhouse gas emissions in the ocean – known as “Blue Carbon.” The natural coastal ecosystems of seagrasses, tidal marshes, and mangroves take up and sequester large quantities of carbon in both the plants and in the sediment below them.

"Hi Beau –

I am writing this email in support of your qualifications to conduct seagrass restoration and
mitigation projects. We have worked together on several different seagrass restoration research
projects over the last 15 years, utilizing almost every currently accepted transplanting, fertilization
and site stabilization technique. I consider you to be one of the most knowledgeable and wellqualified
ecological consultants I have worked with, and I feel you have a realistic understanding of
what factors ultimately lead to success or failure of seagrass restoration or mitigation projects.
I will be happy to discuss your qualifications with anyone that might have further questions."
