How BubbaView Processes This
Real NOAA vessel grounding damage assessment processed through BubbaView's analysis pipeline. The platform plans 0.5m row-spacing lawnmower surveys, processes Simrad sonar and camera data to generate 3D injury volume models, and produces professional restoration plan reports. In the field, BlueBoat collects survey data autonomously while BubbaView handles real-time visualization, YOLOv8 species detection, and Braun-Blanquet monitoring reports.
Built for Blue Robotics Hardware
BlueBoat

BlueBoat Autonomous Surface Vehicle

BubbaView serves as the complete ground control station for BlueBoat operations. Plan survey missions with polygon drawing tools, generate lawnmower patterns, and monitor real-time telemetry while the boat executes waypoint missions autonomously. Full Xbox controller support for manual override, E-STOP safety system, and MAVLink protocol integration for precise vehicle control.

Also supports BlueROV2 submarine operations with 6-axis control, pitch/roll indicators, and dedicated ROV cockpit view.

Key Features
🧠

AI Habitat Detection

46-class YOLOv8 model identifies seagrass species (Thalassia, Halodule, Syringodium, Ruppia), coral, fish, algae, and marine megafauna in real-time video feeds

🛰

Autonomous Survey

Draw survey polygons on the map, auto-generate lawnmower patterns at custom row spacing, and execute waypoint missions. Full mission planning with duration estimates

🌊

Simrad Sonar Integration

Real-time sonar waterfall display with depth, vegetation coverage, and bottom hardness data. NMEA 0183 protocol with auto/manual gain and range controls

📊

3D Bathymetry Modeling

Generate 3D surface models from sonar survey data. Calculate injury volumes, map habitat zones, and detect prop scars at 17cm resolution threshold

📝

Report Generator

Professional PDF and Word (.docx) reports with Braun-Blanquet scoring, species composition tables, injury volumes, GPS logs, and project photos. Multiple report types from survey to annual monitoring

🎮

Xbox Controller

Full gamepad support for manual boat/ROV control. Configurable axis mapping, sensitivity curves, deadzone settings, and expo controls. Xbox, PlayStation, and generic USB supported

📷

Multi-Camera + Recording

Dual MJPEG camera feeds with telemetry overlay. Record at 480p/720p/1080p with GPS, depth, and compass data burned into footage. AI detection boxes rendered live
